SMALL ANIMAL CARE
The agricultural education course in small animal care and management is designed to provide students with skills and concepts involved in the care and management of companion animals. Topics covered include nutrition, habitat, healthcare, grooming, and general animal care for a variety of small animal species. The target population is career preparatory students desiring to continue their education after high school or to enter the workforce after graduation from high school. This course allows students entering the workforce after graduation from high school to develop entry-level skills to become employed and to continue their education on the job.
